Frequently Asked Questions: Does my business need a website? I've decided I want a website, what do I do now? How long before I will see my site on the internet? How will others find my website? Can I have stationery and/or business cards made up to match my website? Can I have a Hit-counter on my website? Answers: Does my business need a website? Any business could benefit in some way from a website. Even if the purpose is as simple as having somewhere the customer can look up information on your business. Most small businesses would not be able to justify the cost for a website with this purpose, but our prices make it possible! There are no rules for how many pages a website should have. It depends on your purpose. If you want your website to look professional, say for a business the absolute minium would be 3 (home, about contact us). However 4 - 5 pages is probably better if you are selling a product or service (home, about, products & services, staff or employment, contact us). Again, this is totally up to the individual. I've decided I want a website, what do I do now? First of all, give us a call or send us an email, and we will either come to your place of business or some other location to discuss your needs in more detail. Or we can send you a form to fill in which outlines what you are looking for. Once you have specified what you need we will start work right away! A domain name identifies your website, and it's the address your website can be found at. Example: www.jimsdomain.com The domain name above is jimsdomain, and the type is a dot com. (.com) We can offer you many different types of domains (.com, .com.au, .info, .org). If you are unsure on what type of domain you need, give us a call and we'll help you. Websites dont exist in thin air, they have to reside somewhere. Your website will reside at InFuWeB authorised servers, and you are charged a monthly fee for the storage or your website. This is standard throughout the industry. How long before I will see my site on the internet? Once your domain has been registered and your website built, it can take up to 48 hours for you to be able your website. This normal for any new domain, as all the servers around the world need to update their cache with your new domain. Until then, they don't know its there and cant find it. If you cannot see your website, chances are someone else can. How will others find my website? All websites hosted with us (unless otherwise specified by you) are submitted to the major international search engines such as Google, MSN and Yahoo. We will also put keywords into your webpages for the search engine bots to find you automatically. At InFuWeB we have many ideas on how to bring more traffic to your website. How many email Addresses do I get? You will get 10 free email addresses of your choice with your domain & hosting package. EG: admin@yoursite.com, sales@yoursite.com, etc. How do I set up my Email Account in Outlook Express? Open Outlook Express CLick on Tools, then Accounts Click Add .. Mail Type in your display name (the name that appears on your outgoing emails) Click Next. Type in your email address. Click Next. Yype the following in both the Incoming and Outgoing Mail server fields: mail.simpsons-trivia.net Click Next. Type in your full email address in the Account Name field Type in your password (emailed to you on request of new email address) Click Next. Click Finish. Do you have a Webmail service? We are currently re-constructing our webmail service. When it is ready it will be available through the home page of this website. I don't have a logo, can you design one for me? Our experienced InFuWeB Graphic Design Team would be happy to come up with a logo and supply it to you in Vector and JPG format. Can I have stationery and/or business cards made up to match my website? Once again our Graphic Design Team are ready to create your business cards, letterheads or any other stationery for your business. We will supply it in ready-to-print format, and have many contacts in the printing industry to get you the best deal for having them mass produced. Can I have a Hit-counter on my website? We love to write new innovative scripts for your website, but still have the old favourites like hit-counters and shopping carts, or high score tables for games websites. There really is no limit to what can be scripted into a website. |
